BEAUTY TREATMENT FOR WINTER SKIN - KERATOSIS PILARIS (Chicken skin)

Hi everyone, January is here, dark mornings and evenings along with the hirrid cold wet weather and all this takes its toll on our skin. So as you are sat in front of your tv eating non stop here is a little help for that tied skin.

Most peoples skin at this time of year especially the tops of your arms and your upper legs look pasty, pimply, rough and dry and like everyone we cover it up so noone can see until Spring.

Have you ever wondered what the goose pimply bits on your skin are? and how to get rid of them?

The pimply skin that is chicken like in appearance is called " KERATOSIS PILARIS" and is extremely common and harmless, the skin becomes rough and bumpy as if it is covered in goose pimples. There is no cure for this but we can do things to improve it as it is caused by a build up of keratin in the hair follicles.

If you are prone to it they are unlikely to leave you completely, but you can improve the situation by regular exfoliation. Scrubs are fine so are exfoliating body lotions containing alpha or beta hydroxy acids, working better and not causing blotches.

One of the prefered lotions is :-

" Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Anti Aging Smoothing Lotion " £4.29  250ml from Boots.

This has a blend of pure cocoa butter, alpha and beta hydroxy acids, shea butter and vitamin E that exfoliates dry dead skin cells and uncovers healthier looking skin whilst providing a deep moisturisation. It also comes with the most beautiful smell of coconut.

The fast absorbing lotion helps reduce Keratosis Pilaris, wrinkles and fine lines. leaving your skin feeling soft, smooth and healthy with no greasy after feel.

So while you are sat indoors this winter it is worth looking after your skin ready for those bright Spring days.

I hope this will help you understand the common goose bumped skin that most ladies have and give you at least one way of controlling it.

If you have any other ways please let me know, I would love to hear from you.

Lots of love

Louise
